2. _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n__I_n_f_o_r_m_a_t_i_o_n
This section lists supplemental information to
the _I_R_I_S _S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n _G_u_i_d_e. The
information listed here is product-specific; use
it with the installation guide to install this
product.

The Fortran 90 Development package consists of
the binary Fortran 90 compiler driver, modules,
error message catalogs, online man pages,
release notes, and manuals. Following is a
description of the subsystems shipped with the
Fortran 90 Development product:

If you are installing this option for the first
time, the subsystems marked ``default'' are the
ones that are installed if you use the ``go''
menu item. To install a different set of
subsystems, use the ``install,'' ``remove,''
``keep,'' and ``step'' commands in _i_n_s_t to
customize the list of subsystems to be
installed, then select the ``go'' menu item.

2.2 _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n__M_e_t_h_o_d
All of the subsystems for Fortran 90 can be
installed using _i_n_s_t from IRIX. You do not need
to use the miniroot. Refer to the _I_R_I_S _S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e
_I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n _G_u_i_d_e for complete installation
instructions.
2.3 _P_r_e_r_e_q_u_i_s_i_t_e_s
Fortran 90 requires the installation of the
following subsystems IRIX Development Foundation
(compiler_eoe, compiler_dev, ftn_dev and
ftn_eoe) release 1.1 on IRIX 6.2, 6.3 and 6.4.
On IRIX 6.5 the *_eoe subsystems are contained
on the IRIX Foundation CD. Please refer to the
_1._1 _I_R_I_X _D_e_v_e_l_o_p_m_e_n_t _F_o_u_n_d_a_t_i_o_n _R_e_l_e_a_s_e _N_o_t_e_s.
for more information.
_N_O_T_E: To complete your installation you, must
also install the Fortran 90 front-end components
from the MIPSpro Fortran 90 7.2.1 CD. These
subsystems are named _f_t_n_9_0__f_e.
_I_M_P_O_R_T_A_N_T: Patch 2759 is required for MIPSpro
Fortran 90 7.2.1. The relevant subsystems from
this patch for Fortran 90 operation are:
patchSG0002759.compiler_eoe_sw,
patchSG0002759.compiler_eoe_sw64,
patchSG0002759.ftn_eoe_sw,
patchSG0002759.ftn_eoe_sw64.
Patch 2773 libmp rollup (Required for OpenMP)
Whereas the compiler_eoe subsystems on the IRIX
Development Foundation CD contain the original
versions of libmp for IRIX 6.2, 6.3 and 6.4,
patch 2773 contains the new revision of these
libraries. It includes bug fixes as well as new
interfaces for multiprocessing. Patch 2773 is
required for use with OpenMP on these systems.
